Passengers with Service Dogs

If you need to travel with a service dog (hearing dogs and guide dogs), please bring the valid animal health certificate ("Animal Quarantine Certificate") and effective work certificate, if any, ("Animal Training Certificate" or "Animal Work Permit" or "Animal Identification"). Please go to Xiamen Airlines' ticket offices or visit the official website for the application to travel with the service dog, and fill out the "Application for Special Passengers" and "Application for Carriage of Small Animal/Service Dog".For travel to or from the U.S., advance notice is required only for the carriage of emotional support or psychiatric service dogs.

For passengers who apply through the official website, the passenger or agent should fill out the "Application for Special Passengers" and "Application for Carriage of Small Animal/Service Dog" online and submit an application request. Xiamen Airlines will confirm the application based on the departure date and contact the applicant.

※ Reminder: After you submit the "Application for Special Passengers" and "Application for Carriage of Small Animal/Service Dog" online, Xiamen Airlines will review your application. It does not mean that your application will be successful. We will reply to your application notifying you of its status. After your application is confirmed, we will send the electronic edition of "Application for Special Passengers" and "Application for Carriage of Small Animal/Service Dog" to you via email. Please print the "Application for Carriage of Small Animal/Service Dog" (two copies) because it is the only evidence that can enable you to enjoy this service. To ensure the information is accurate and valid, please bring the printed copy and check in at the airport 120 minutes prior to the flight departure time, except that on flights to or from the U.S. normal check-in requirements apply.

Please bring along the above documents to the airport to check in. There are no extra charges for service dogs.

The service dog in the cabin must wear a muzzle and must be leashed. The service dog should sit on the floor under the seat. It cannot occupy a passenger seat or block the aisle. With approval from related Xiamen Airlines, the service dog may have the muzzle removed.

You are responsible for the toilet needs of the service dog in the cabin. Please keep the cabin in a clean and healthy condition.

If you agree to consign your service dog for transportation in the aircraft cargo area, the dog cage and food can be consigned together free of charge with their weights not included in the free-baggage allowance.
