Xiamen Airlines Partners Again with the World Athletics Diamond League

On the morning of April 10, 2025, the press conference for the 2025 Wanda Diamond League Red Star Macalline Xiamen Meeting was held at the official designated hotel of the event, Fairmont Xiamen. The conference unveiled important information such as the event schedule, athlete lineup, and competition events, and announced that the annual curtain-raiser of the Diamond League will kick off in Xiamen on April 26. At the conference, Xiamen Airlines and Wanda Sports held a signing ceremony, formally declaring Xiamen Airlines as the Diamond Partner of the event.

Wang Nan, a member of the World Athletics and Vice President of the Chinese Athletics Association, Ruan Dunliang, Director of the Xiamen Municipal Sports Bureau, Rune Stenersen, Event Director of the Diamond League Xiamen Meeting, Chen Lan, Deputy Director of the Xiamen Municipal Sports Bureau, Wu Mingxian, General Manager of Xiamen State-owned Capital Holding Co., Ltd., Wang Yuliang, General Manager of Xiamen Sports Group Co., Ltd., Zhang Chunyuan, President of Wanda Culture and Tourism Group, Zhang Mei, President of Wanda Sports Group, and Zhu Wenxia, Chairman of the Labor Union of Xiamen Airlines, among other leaders and guests, attended the press conference and witnessed the signing ceremony.

The Diamond League is the highest-specification one-day series event under the World Athletics umbrella and is also the world's most prestigious and influential track and field series. This year, the Diamond League Xiamen Meeting will be held at the Egret Stadium in Xiamen Olympic Sports Center on April 26. Nearly 200 athletes from 52 countries have confirmed their participation, including Christian Coleman, the defending champion of the men's 100-meter dash at the Xiamen stop for two consecutive years, Mondo Duplantis, the high jump star who set a world record at Egret Stadium last year, and Grant Holloway, the Olympic champion and three-time world champion in the men's 110-meter hurdles. On the Chinese side, renowned athletes such as Xie Zhenye, the Olympic women's shot put champion Gong Lijiao, the women's discus throw world champion Feng Bin, and Wu Yanni, the national record holder in women's 60-meter hurdles, will all be competing.

This is the second time Xiamen Airlines has deeply participated in and supported this world-class track and field event since it served as the naming partner for the Diamond League Xiamen Meeting in 2023. As the Diamond Partner of the Diamond League Xiamen Meeting and the official designated airline brand of the event, Xiamen Airlines has provided priority check-in, seat selection, and priority baggage handling services for athletes and their entourages. Additionally, passengers arriving at Xiamen Airport can enjoy the customs "combined inspection of checked baggage" and fast-track clearance services. Checked baggage will only need to be inspected once to meet the requirements of both customs and security checks, greatly improving clearance efficiency and reducing waiting times. This further enhances Xiamen's image on the international sports stage and contributes to Xiamen's efforts in building a "Healthy Xiamen" and a renowned sports city.

As the official designated hotel of the event, Fairmont Xiamen is closely connected to the new headquarters of Xiamen Airlines, both standing at the heart of Xiamen's Wuyuan Bay.
