Notice on Restrictions for Passengers Who Have Visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Other Countries Within 21 Days Prior to Traveling to the United States

Dear Passengers,

To reduce the risk of Ebola virus importation into the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is temporarily restricting entry into the United States for travelers who have recently visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Passengers, including U.S. citizens, who have been in the DRC within 21 days prior to their flight departure will not be permitted to board commercial flights bound for the United States. All U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals who have been in the DRC should plan to remain outside the DRC for 21 days before entering the United States.

U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals who have been present in Uganda or South Sudan (and have not been present in the DRC) within 21 days before arrival in the United States must only enter through designated airports for enhanced screening. Please refer to the CDC’s travel requirements and health information for travelers returning to the United States from the DRC, Uganda, and South Sudan for the list of designated airports and health information related to Ebola.
