Carriage of Passengers with Special Need

I. Important Notice


Travel Notices

There are currently no types of self-service check-in portal (including self-service check-in through the official website / mobile app / WeChat public account of Xiamen Airlines, as well as airport self-service check-in kiosks) available to passengers with special needs and other authorized passengers who have obtained relevant certifications for check-in from another certifying party and are eligible to board flights (including but not limited to VIP passengers, passengers with illnesses or disabilities, disabled or injured military personnel and police officers, pregnant women, infants, unaccompanied minors, passengers requesting in-flight baby bassinet service, personnel from OPOs responsible for carrying and transporting donated human organs, and as suspects or prisoners and their escorts). For such passengers, please bring your valid ID document and all other required certifications provided at the time of your ticket purchase and directly check in at our check-in counter at the airport.

 

Flight Irregularities

Xiamen Airlines will endeavor to transport passengers and baggage in accordance with the flight schedules effective on the day of travel. However, if there are any involuntary changes to your flight (other than temporary flight changes on the day of travel), we may not be able to guarantee the availability of the special services you previously requested.

If you still need our special services, please contact a ticket office of Xiamen Airlines or call the Xiamen Airlines 24/7 Service Hotline (95557) to request the service again. The result of your request is subject to our approval.

 

Restricted Carriage

Passengers who require special care or assistance during travel as a result of specific physical or mental conditions or who are eligible to board flights only under certain conditions (including infants, pregnant women, passengers requesting in-flight baby bassinet service, unaccompanied minors, passengers with illnesses or disabilities, personnel from OPOs responsible for carrying and transporting donated human organs, and suspects or prisoners and their escorts) may board flights only if they meet the specific requirements of Xiamen Airlines and other relevant carriers for in-flight travel, they have obtained prior approval from Xiamen Airlines and such relevant carriers, and all necessary and appropriate arrangements have been made beforehand.

For safety reasons, Xiamen Airlines is entitled to limit the number of such passengers for restricted carriage (or service) on each flight. Such passengers shall request approval for boarding in advance when making seat reservations or purchasing tickets.

 

Scope of Request for Special Services

Xiamen Airlines only accepts requests for special services made by passengers who hold tickets validated by Xiamen Airlines (ticket number beginning with 731) and provided on flights operated by, and with flight numbers beginning with MF.Special services are not available on code-share flights. 

If you purchase any interline or round-trip tickets involving airlines other than Xiamen Airlines, or if your tickets are issued by other airlines, please contact those carriers to proceed with the relevant procedures.

For passengers with disabilities, Xiamen Airlines will make every effort to assist you with your request for special services on your connecting flights. However, the result of your request for such special services will be subject to the response of the operated carriers involved.

 

Medical Certificates / Proof of Diagnosis

1. Xiamen Airlines reserves the right to request that passengers who meet at least one of the following conditions present their relevant medical certificates or proofs of diagnosis issued by hospitals accredited by Xiamen Airlines and signed by the physicians of such passengers:

(1)Passengers carrying incubators for premature infants on board;

(2)Passengers requiring the use of oxygen delivered from medical oxygen equipment during flight;

(3)Passengers whose health conditions will be jeopardized by in-flight travel or who need special medical care during the flight; 

(4)Passengers who have contracted severe contagious diseases, the spread of which can somehow be prevented if certain precautions are taken.

2. The relevant medical certificates / proofs of diagnosis shall be issued by hospitals at or above the county level or hospitals at or above Grade-II, also including overseas clinics, medical centers, and hospitals outside Mainland China. The documents must contain the description “upon medical diagnosis and given the passenger’s health conditions, the passenger is physically capable of travelling by air” or one with a similar meaning. The documents must bear the physicians’ signatures and the official seals of the relevant medical institutions.

3. The relevant proof of diagnosis required by Xiamen Airlines shall be deemed valid if such medical proof is issued within 72 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Any passenger who requires the use of in-flight medical oxygen equipment shall also present a written medical certificate signed by a qualified physician or medical practitioner, which shall not only state that the passenger requires the use of such in-flight medical oxygen equipment due to his/her health conditions but also specify the maximum amount of oxygen and maximum oxygen flow required per hour at the specific cabin altitude corresponding to the pressure inside the cabin during normal flight.

4. Disabled passengers with permanent or temporary physical or mental injuries who meet the national standard of the Classification and Grading Criteria of Disability do not need to provide relevant medical certificates or proof of diagnosis for proving their suitability for air travel when requesting special services provided by Xiamen Airlines. Application Form for Air Travel for Passengers With Special Needs

Passengers applying for special travel services through any one of the ticket office of Xiamen Airlines must fill out a paper application form for air travel.

1. Any passenger requesting special services is required to fill out the “Application Form for Air Travel for Passengers With Special Needs” in quintuplicate to indicate that the applicant shall assume all the responsibilities for the aggravation of the passenger’s health conditions, passenger’s death or any harm or injury caused to others during the flight.

2. The “Application Form for Air Travel for Passengers With Special Needs” shall be signed by the passenger applicant in person. For any passenger who may experience difficulty with handwriting, such application form may also be signed by a passenger’s family member or guardian on behalf of the passenger.

3. For US-bound flights operated by Xiamen Airlines, Xiamen Airlines will take the responsibilities for any loss, damage, or death concerning any checked-in wheelchairs or service animals of passengers with disabilities.


Travel Companions

1. Travel companions should state they are accompanying the passengers who need special services when booking their own tickets, which shall then be issued separately. Such travel companions shall travel on the same flight as the passengers they are accompanying.

Travel companions should be capable of taking care of the passengers they accompany during the flight and assisting these passengers in case of an emergency evacuation. Except for safety considerations, the travel companions shall be seated next to the passengers they accompany.


II. Infants

Infants on Board

An infant aged 14 days or over but under 2 years on the start date of travel must be accompanied by an adult passenger (at least 18 years of age) with full civil capacity when boarding a plane (except in cases where the infant is a child of a minor passenger under the age of 18).

Xiamen Airlines refuses to board infants aged under 14 days due to safety considerations. Request for the use of in-flight incubators for premature infants on board shall be completed and submitted according to the specific requirements for “passengers with illnesses”.

 

Fares for Infants

An infant alone shall not occupy a seat.

For domestic flights: each infant is charged 10% of the published full fare of a ticket for the same physical flight class purchased by the accompanying adult.

For international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights: each infant is charged in accordance with relevant applicable rules for the fare of a ticket for the same physical flight class purchased by the accompanying adult.

However, only one infant per adult can book the above discounted fares. For an adult travelling with more than one infant, each additional infant shall be charged full fare of a corresponding child ticket and shall occupy a seat.

Note:

Please provide a valid ID document, such as a birth certificate, ID Card, household register or passport, to purchase an infant ticket, and also provide the exact same ID document used for purchasing such ticket when checking in.

 

Maximum Number of Infants Allowed on Board

To ensure flight safety and comply with the safety regulations on the maximum number of passengers carried by each type of aircraft issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the standards for carriage concerning the maximum number of infant passengers allowed on board vary with each type of aircraft and each specific flight.

To ensure safe and smooth travel for you and your children, please notify our ticketing staff about the boarding of your infant(s) when booking seats or purchasing tickets. We shall issue the tickets to you and your infant(s) once we have confirmed that you have met the requirements for the maximum number of infants allowed on the specific flight you are taking, so as to avoid any inconvenient travel itinerary changes caused by the number of infants travelling with you exceeding the maximum number allowed on the flight you are taking if you purchased adult ticket(s) separately and proceed with check-in along with your infant(s) without prior knowledge of such circumstances.

 

Note:

In the event that you fail to board your flight as a result of your failure to notify the ticketing staff of the boarding of your infant(s), any change to or refund for your tickets shall then be processed as voluntary ticket change or voluntary ticket refund.  

 

Free Baggage Allowance for Infants

Free baggage allowance does not apply to infant passengers without seats on board. An infant travelling on international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights without a seat is entitled to 1 piece of checked baggage not exceeding 10 kg (22 lbs) in weight and 115 cm (45 inches) in total dimensions (length+width+height) free of charge. A folding stroller may also be carried free of charge for an infant passenger travelling on international and regional flights without a seat.

Non-folding strollers may only be transported free of charge as checked baggage. A folding stroller that exceeds the size limit of the specified storage space in flight may only be transported free of charge as checked baggage. An infant with a seat on board (INS) holding a child ticket purchased at the corresponding child fare is entitled to free baggage allowance matching the corresponding ticket fare rule.

 

Baby Bassinet Service (BSCT)

Xiamen Airlines provides free in-flight baby bassinet service (BSCT) with no additional service charges for passengers on all flights operated by Xiamen Airlines and the flight duration is more than 1 hour. Parents of infants who meet the following criteria are eligible to request this service:

1. Passengers are taking flights operated by B737 series and B787 series aircraft;

2. Passengers requiring business-class baby bassinet service also need to purchase business-class tickets. (Since there is no specific/designated space available for baby bassinets in business-class cabins on some of the B737-series and B787-series aircraft, please contact us for further details when requesting such service on these flights.)

3. Each of the infants travelling with the adult passengers is aged over 14 days but under 2 years on the start date of travel, with a height not exceeding 74 cm (29 inches) and weight not exceeding 11 kg (24 lb).

Due to the limited number of baby bassinets available on each flight, please request the baby bassinet service in person at one of the ticket office of Xiamen Airlines at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time as indicated on your tickets if you require such service. Alternatively, you can request and book such service directly on our official website at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time as indicated on your tickets.

III. Children

Accompanied Children (CHD)

1. Age Requirement

A child passenger refers to a passenger aged 2 years or above but under 12 years on the start date of travel. Any child aged 2 years or above but under 12 years on the start date of travel must be accompanied by an adult passenger aged 18 years or above with full civil capacity and seated in the same flight class as the child when boarding a plane. Children travelling alone must apply for the in-flight unaccompanied minor service(UMNR).


2. Fares for Children

Each child passenger shall occupy a seat.

For domestic flights: each child is charged 50% of the published full fare of a ticket for the same physical flight class purchased by the accompanying adult.

For international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights: each child is charged in accordance with relevant applicable rules for the fare of a ticket for the same physical flight class purchased by the accompanying adult.

If you choose to purchase child tickets at discounted fares of adult tickets, any changes to and refunds for such child tickets shall then be subject to the exact same conditions that apply to the adult tickets.


Note:

 (1) Please provide a valid ID document, such as a birth certificate, ID Card, household register (only for children under the age of 16) or passport, to purchase a child ticket; provide the exact same ID document used for purchasing the ticket when checking in.

 (2) When taking a flight operated by Xiamen Airlines, each adult passenger aged 18 years or above with full civil capacity can accompany up to two children or infants aged under 12 years and seated in the same flight class as the adult. For other additional children (including children holding tickets purchased at adult ticket fares), completion of relevant procedures for unaccompanied minors is required prior to boarding. Any child group may purchase their flight tickets only upon prior consent of Xiamen Airlines.


3. Free Baggage Allowance for Children

A child holding a child ticket purchased at the corresponding child fare is entitled to free baggage allowance matching the corresponding ticket fare rule.


Unaccompanied Minors(UMNR)

1. Age Limit

(1)An unaccompanied minor eligible for boarding flights operated by Xiamen Airlines refer to a child who is aged 5 years or above but under 12 years on the start date of travel, travels alone, and is not accompanied by any parent or adult passenger aged 18 years or above with full civil capacity and seated in the same physical flight class as the child when boarding a plane. Such children may only be allowed to board the flights operated by Xiamen Airlines if they have completed the relevant procedures for unaccompanied minors prior to boarding.

(2)Xiamen Airlines refuses to board unaccompanied minors under the age of 5.

(3)We also provide optional service for unaccompanied adolescent passengers. You can choose to pay a small service fee to enjoy such service if necessary. An unaccompanied adolescent passenger eligible for boarding the flights operated by Xiamen Airlines refers to an adolescent passenger aged 12 years or above but under 16 years who travels alone, is not accompanied by any parent or adult passenger aged 18 years or above with full civil capacity and seated in the same physical flight class as the child when boarding a plane, and has also requested and purchased the optional service for unaccompanied adolescent passengers.


2. Operated Flights

We provide unaccompanied minor service as well as optional service for unaccompanied adolescents for direct domestic, international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights operated by Xiamen Airlines. Xiamen Airlines only accepts unaccompanied minor/adolescent passengers on direct flights that do not require a change of aircraft or flight number, and will not accept such passengers on any connecting or multi-segment flights.


3. Acceptance of Requests/Applications

Unaccompanied minors/adolescents are only allowed to request such services when booking their seats at one of the ticket offices of Xiamen Airlines. The booking of seats shall then be confirmed by Xiamen Airlines in accordance with its relevant regulations on the carriage of passengers.

In general, you must request such services at least 24 hours prior to your flight departure (or at least 48 hours prior to your flight departure if you request the services on the official website of Xiamen Airlines) and also check in at least 2 hours before departure on the day of travel.

Unaccompanied minors/adolescents shall be accompanied by their parents or guardians to the check-in location at the airport of departure and further picked up and cared for by the designated pick-up persons at the pick-up location at the destination airport, and shall also provide Xiamen Airlines with the names, contact addresses and phone numbers of the designated pick-up/see-off persons at the destination airport.

Since the carrier bears responsibility for the safety and well-being of unaccompanied minors/adolescents and needs to provide safe and  thorough special care for such passengers throughout the flight, there is a limit on the number of unaccompanied minors/adolescents allowed on board for each flight.

Note:

Please familiarize yourself with and comply with the relevant regulations and policies of the destination country/countries or region(s). Xiamen Airlines shall not assume any responsibility for any breach of such regulations or laws by passengers:

Some countries issue child-visitor visas for accompanied children entering these countries (eg. C-VISIT-CHILD ACCOMPANIED), which stipulate that children entering these countries must be accompanied by adults and may not enter such countries alone;

Some countries also require the parents of such children to present their relevant ID documents/certifications or notarized documents when entering these countries.

If your children are required to hold the above-mentioned visa or documents to board their flights, we may not be able to provide unaccompanied minor service or unaccompanied adolescents service.


4. Fares for Unaccompanied Minors

For domestic flights: each child is charged 50% of the full fare of an adult ticket for the same physical flight class and is not eligible to use tickets at discounted fares.

For international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights: each unaccompanied minor is charged in accordance with relevant applicable rules for the ticket fares for the specific physical flight class where the child is seated.


5. Ticket Fares and Service Fees for Unaccompanied Adolescents

For domestic flights: each unaccompanied adolescent is charged the same applicable fare for a regular adult ticket as well as service fees (if applicable) of CNY 200 or its equivalent in any other eligible currencies per flight segment (as indicated on the ticket).

For non-intercontinental international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights: each unaccompanied adolescent is charged the same applicable fare for a regular adult ticket as well as service fees (if applicable) of CNY 300 or its equivalent in any other eligible currencies per flight segment (as indicated on the ticket). In accordance with the relevant requirements of Changi International Airport in Singapore, an unaccompanied adolescent travelling on flights from/to Singapore is also required to pay an additional airport service charge of SGD 25 or its equivalent in any other eligible currencies.

For intercontinental international flights: each unaccompanied adolescent is charged the same applicable fare for a regular adult ticket as well as service fees (if applicable) of CNY 400 or its equivalent in any other eligible currencies per flight segment (as indicated on the ticket).

IV. Pregnant Women

Due to the relatively low oxygen content in the air and the reduced air pressure during high-altitude flights, pregnant women travelling by air need to meet certain eligibility criteria for air travel. For such passengers, please consult your attending physician before scheduling your trip and make sure to provide relevant medical certificates / prenatal test reports that prove the time of pregnancy and the expected pregnancy due date when booking seats and checking in.


Women who have been pregnant for 32 weeks or less shall be allowed to travel on board as regular passengers after their relevant medical certificates / prenatal test reports or proofs of diagnosis issued by their physicians have been checked and verified by staff of Xiamen Airlines, unless such passengers have been diagnosed by their physicians as physically unfit for air travel.

Women with a singleton pregnancy of over 32 weeks but under 36 weeks must fill in an Application Form for Air Travel for Passengers with Special Needs to apply for relevant special in-flight service at one of the ticket offices of Xiamen Airlines, and also provide relevant medical certificates / prenatal test reports or proofs of diagnosis issued by their physicians as proof of pregnancy before booking their seats.

Women who have been pregnant for 36 weeks or over with their expected pregnancy due date being within (less than) 4 weeks from the date of travel, or women having a multiple pregnancy or pregnancy complications and with their expected pregnancy due date being uncertain shall not be allowed on board.  

Note:

The above-mentioned medical certificates / prenatal test reports shall be deemed valid only if such medical documents have been issued within 72 hours prior to departure of passengers, with the official seals of hospitals at or above county level or Grade-II as well as signatures of physicians of such hospitals.   

 

To ensure your own safety, Xiamen Airlines reserves the right to refuse your boarding if:

(1) Your medical certificates / proofs of diagnosis have already expired, or you have failed to provide medical certificates that prove the time of your pregnancy and the expected pregnancy due date;

 (2) You are a pregnant woman with a singleton pregnancy of 36 weeks or more or a multiple pregnancy of 32 weeks or more;

 (3) You are a pregnant women with potential pregnancy complications;

 (4)You are currently in a postpartum period less than 14 days after delivery.

Note:

In the event that you are refused boarding as a result of your failure to provide relevant medical certificates / proofs of diagnosis that prove the time of your pregnancy and the expected pregnancy due date when checking in, any change to or refund for your tickets shall then be processed as a voluntary ticket change or voluntary ticket refund.

Pregnant mainland Chinese women travelling to Hong Kong shall pay special attention to the following issue:

According to the relevant laws and regulations of the Immigration Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, mainland Chinese women who have been pregnant for 28 weeks or over must hold all the following documents to enter Hong Kong:

1. Medical certificate issued by hospitals in mainland China (as proof of the time of pregnancy);

2. The Certificate of Confirmation of Delivery Booking issued by hospitals in Hong Kong.

Please make sure to provide all the above required documents when purchasing tickets and boarding flights. Should you be denied entry due to your failure to provide such documents, you shall bear all the relevant expenses/costs incurred (including but not limited to diagnosis fees for medical personnel and transportation fees for repatriation) as a result of such circumstances.

V. Disabled or Injured Military Personnel and Police Officers

To better safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of disabled or injured Chinese military personnel and police officers injured or disabled in the line of duty concerning their ticket purchases, and to provide quality services to such passengers, Xiamen Airlines now officially publicizes all its specific ticket offices for disabled or injured Chinese military personnel and police officers injured or disabled in the line of duty. Since all the relevant travel information of disabled or injured military personnel and police officers needs to be verified through the TravelSky CRS System, such passengers are required to provide original copies of the Certificate of Disabled or Injured Revolutionary Military Personnel of the People’s Republic of China and the Certificate of People’s Police Disability Pension of the People’s Republic of China along with other required valid travel documents when purchasing tickets for domestic flights at the publicized ticket offices of Xiamen Airlines.

According to the relevant laws and regulations of China, disabled or injured military personnel and police officers injured or disabled in the line of duty are not eligible for special offers, deals and ticket discounts for international and regional (Hong Kong-, Macao- and Taiwan-bound) flights.

VI. Passengers with Disabilities

Xiamen Airlines provides the following types of special in-flight services for passengers with disabilities, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the destination countries(summarized as follows):

1. Wheelchairs with Ramps (WCHR) - intended only for passengers with mobility difficulties who are able to move around without further assistance inside a terminal building:

Please submit your request for such service at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure (or at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure if you submit your request online through our official website).

2. Wheelchairs for Steps (WCHS) - intended for passengers who cannot ascend or descend steps on a boarding staircase:

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

3. On-board Wheelchairs for Cabins (WCHC):

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

4. Service Dogs (Hearing and Guide Dogs):

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

Attention: According to Announcement No. 5 [2019] of the General Administration of Customs, P. R. China Announcement on Further Regulating the Supervision of Pet (including service dogs for the disabled) Importation and Quarantine, pet importation at all ports of entry will be subject to new quarantine regulations, effective on May 1,2019.Please checking more details here.


5. Emotional Support Animals (ESAN):  

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. Request/Application for this service is only available to passengers on flights to/from the United States, including flights between Xiamen and Los Angeles, between Qingdao and Los Angeles, between Fuzhou and New York, between Xiamen and Seattle, and between Shenzhen and Seattle.

Attention: According to Announcement No. 5 [2019] of the General Administration of Customs, P. R. China Announcement on Further Regulating the Supervision of Pet (including service dogs for the disabled) Importation and Quarantine, pet importation at all ports of entry will be subject to new quarantine regulations, effective on May 1,2019.Please checking more details here.

6. On-board Medical Oxygen Equipment:

Xiamen Airlines provides medical oxygen cylinders for use on board. Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

7. Self-equipped On-board Oxygen Generating Equipment:

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. Request/Application for this service is only available to passengers on flights to/from the United States.

8. Medical Stretchers (STCR):

Please submit your request for such service at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. Passengers requesting such service shall only purchase their tickets at one of the ticket offices of Xiamen Airlines. This service is only available for passengers travelling on B737-series aircraft.

9. Unaccompanied Blind Passengers (UM BLND):

Please submit your request for such service at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

Due to the limited capacity of our services and our need to determine your eligibility for air travel based on comprehensive judgement of your travel information, please consult our ticket offices for more details on the above in-flight services and relevant application processes for such services, and also purchase tickets and request such services at our ticket offices.

VII. Passengers with Illnesses

To ensure your safety during travel, Xiamen Airlines reserves the right to refuse to board you if you are one the following types of passengers or are suffering from or experiencing the following diseases/symptoms/conditions: 

1. Critical and severe heart diseases, severe symptoms of arrhythmia or coronary occlusions caused by myocardial infarctions (even mild symptoms of which still cause physical discomfort within 6 weeks after their onset);

2. Uncontrollable severe hypertension (with systolic blood pressure ≥ 180 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 120 mmHg);

3. Frequent, severe asthma that requires medical treatment in a hospital;

4. Respiratory diseases characterized by significant shortness of breath while at rest;

5. Inflammation of ears, nose or sinuses, and, in particular, obstruction of the auditory tubes;

6. Patients suffering from anemia, with a hemoglobin level below 6 g/L;

7. Contagious diseases such as active tuberculosis, typhoid or polio;

8. Passengers who have recently undergone surgeries and still have unhealed surgical wounds;

9. Passengers who have suffered from cerebral infarctions within the past 3 days or who have suffered from craniocerebral or eye injuries and undergone related surgeries within the past 10 days;

10. Passengers who have suffered from tension pneumothorax and undergone related thoracic surgeries within the past 21 days;

11. Passengers who have undergone gastrointestinal surgeries within the past 10 days or suffered from gastrointestinal bleeding within the past 21 days;

12. Acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT); 

13. Unstable or untreated fractures;

14. Any type of disease that is likely to worsen in the aviation environment;

15. Passengers who are likely to interfere with or cause a disturbance to other passengers, or who are suffering from mental disorders and have suicidal tendencies;

16. Passengers who are suffering from alcohol poisoning or other types of drug poisoning;

17. Passengers who are experiencing obvious symptoms of certain diseases or have strong body odor and are likely to cause displeasure or discomfort of other passengers.

18. Special passengers who are unable to provide the relevant documents or certifications required by Xiamen Airlines for air travel.


If you need special medical care/assistance or medical equipment during the flight due to your own health conditions, please consult the ticket offices of Xiamen Airlines and notify us of your special in-flight needs within the following time limits:

1. Wheelchairs with Ramps(WCHR)- intended only for passengers with mobility difficulties who are able to move around without further assistance inside a terminal building:

Please submit your request for such service at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure (or at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure if you submit your request online through our official website).

2. Wheelchairs for Steps (WCHS) - intended for passengers who cannot ascend or descend steps on a boarding staircase:

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

3. On-board Wheelchairs for Cabins (WCHC):

Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

4. Medical Stretchers (STCR):

Please submit your request for such service at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. Passengers requesting such service shall only purchase their tickets at one of the direct sales agencies of Xiamen Airlines. This service is only available for passengers travelling on B737-series aircraft.

5. On-board Medical Oxygen Equipment:

Xiamen Airlines provides medical oxygen cylinders for use on board. Please submit your request for such service at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.

6. Passengers who have recently undergone plastic surgeries:

Please submit your request for such service at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. Xiamen Airlines reserves the right to refuse boarding within 15 days after your plastic surgeries.

Reception of your requests/applications for such services does not mean that Xiamen Airlines has already accepted and approved such requests/applications. We shall respond to your requests and confirm whether to provide such services based on comprehensive judgement and evaluation of your actual conditions and needs.

 

VIII. Request for Other Special Assistance

Relevant Personnel Responsible for Carrying and Transporting Donated Human Organs (Personnel from OPOs - Organ Procurement Organizations)

Xiamen Airlines will endeavor to provide you with convenient, smooth and efficient air transport services. Please request this service at least 4 hours prior to your flight departure. When requesting special assistance with the transport of donated human organs, you shall provide the Confirmation Letter of Organ Acceptance by Organ Transplant Center and make sure that the specific containers for transport of human organs as well as the contents all meet the relevant safety requirements for air transport. To ensure the safety of transport of special items, if the whole package of the organs exceeds the maximum size limit (20*40*55 cm) or weight limit of carry-on baggage allowed on board and cannot be placed on board as regular carry-on baggage, you shall then purchase an extra seat ticket for such items like passengers who are required to purchase extra seat tickets for oversized or overweight carry-on baggage.
