VII. Passengers carrying a portable oxygen concentrator (POC)
What is a POC?
Medical oxygen is usually stored in high-pressure cylinders, which are managed as dangerous goods in air transportation, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China does not allow passengers to carry any devices for storing, generating, or distributing oxygen on board.
Xiamen Airlines allows passengers to carry a POC into the cabin that separates oxygen from air using molecular sieve technology and provides oxygen with a concentration of ≥ 90±3% to the user; the POC does not have pressure storage components, and its distribution mechanism is not pressurized and does not generate oxygen autonomously. The device should meet our requirements, so please read and fill out the Notice for Passengers Using a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) on Board (click here )before applying.
Requirements for a POC
1. You must have obtained approval or certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other regulatory agencies to carry a POC with you during taxiing, take-off, cruising, and landing of the flight. The POC should have a valid label affixed to the outside, along with its brand and model. You can check the latest certified POC brand and model by visiting the following website(click here )
2. You need to provide the duration of the entire flight that the battery can continuously power the device, and confirm that the battery lasts not less than 150% of the planned flight time.

The certificate must be issued by a "second-class (or above) hospital, specialized hospital, overseas clinic, medical center, etc. and should contain a description such as "after diagnosis, the passenger's health conditions are medically suitable for air travel" or a similar statement. It must also be signed by a doctor and sealed by the medical unit (if the overseas medical institution cannot affix an official seal, it must be signed by a doctor).
